Trinity Dairy
United States
Приєднався 4 січ 2020
Welcome to Trinity Dairy! We milk 33 cows in East-Central Minnesota. Alan bought the farm from his Grandparents when he was just 16 with the hope of one day milking his own cows on the farm. That dream came true in 2006 when he bought his first 10 cows. It's now 2021 and we are milking 33 cows, almost one of every breed, with another 30 head of young stock. We now have 5 children who get to share in this adventure with us, or perhaps we are sharing it with them. Either way we are loving every minute raising our family on a small Dairy Farm. Join us on our day to day adventures, mishaps, and discoveries.

Final Touches Before Planting Oat Field/ Fertilizer, Discing, Cultivating
It's a snowy morning on the farm. Alan is in the final stages of field prep on 3 fields that he plans to put oats on. First, he is spreading some fertilizer on the fields, while Paul, lightly works it in with the International 1066 and field cultivator. The last rented field still needed to be disced a bit before it can be planted, so Alan takes the International 1256 and John Deere Disc over to smooth it out a bit. The 3 fields are now ready to have some seed put in the ground. The last thing we share is that Justin and Jordan had the opportunity to attend a youth education night, where they learned about beef cattle nutrition and how to assist with a cow calving. The boys even got to help pull a calf on Helga the cow.

Installing New Inflations/Discing 2nd Oat Field/Hooking Up Cultivator
Переглядів 15 тис.14 годин тому
It's a snowy morning on the farm. The pastures are pretty muddy, so Alan feeds the cows silage in the dairy barn. After getting the cows fed, Alan replaces the inflations on the milking units. He then heads out to get our second field disced that Alan plans to put oats in. The next project is to put some fertilizer down on those fields and lightly work it in with our field cultivator. Check out...
New Calf Born On The Dairy Farm/Finishing Up Discing The Field
Переглядів 14 тис.День тому
Just as Alan got home from the morning bus route, a new heifer calf was being born! After the new calf and mom are settled in and doing well, it is time to get back to finishing up the first field that he has been discing. He hooks up the John Deere Disc to the International 1256 and gets to work. Alan disced late into the night, and the next day, he had just the ends of the field to finish. Th...
Plowing With Draft Horses and a Walking Plow/Working With Draft Horses

It's time to get gardening here in our neck of the woods in Minnesota. To do that, Alan's Dad works his garden differently than most people. His horsepower is the real kind. Stub, a Belgian Gelding, and Prince, a Percheron Gelding, get to work. Leonard, an award-winning teamster throws the lines over one shoulder and under the other arm to steer the horses while guiding the plow. The horses are...

Snowstorm On The Dairy Farm
Переглядів 17 тис.Місяць тому
A late March snowstorm was expected to hit Minnesota and bring some much-needed moisture to our very dry winter. Even if it's a snowstorm, chores still need to be done. The cows still need to be milked and fed and made comfortable during the inclement weather. After the first round of snow slowed down, Alan did a bit of cleanup around the farm. The next morning brought more snow and wind. The s...
Getting Oats From A Neighbor/Grinding Heifer Feed
Переглядів 14 тис.Місяць тому
A neighbor called and asked if we would want some oats that he had left over after he sold his herd of dairy cows. So, Alan headed right over with the International 1066 and Artsway Grinder Mixer. Jen's Guernseys came from this farm that Al said were on that particular farm for over 120 years. After getting the oats loaded and a bit of visiting, it was time to head home before Alan had to leave...
Dropping Trees And Discing The Field Before A Snowstorm?
Переглядів 13 тис.Місяць тому
The warm weather in Minnesota is giving everyone Spring Fever! With no snow hardly at all this winter, Alan decided to see if he could get a jump on Spring Field Work and start discing. He hooks up the John Deere Disc to the International 1256 and gives it a Spring tune-up before he heads out to the field. There are still a few spots that seem to have some frost in the ground, but any land he c...

Great content.My favorite channel!
What state are you from?
Minnesota
Lol I grew up in Maine on my Grandfather's dairy farm. I lost count of how many times I delivered calves before I left for the Army after I turned 18
I just found and subbed you 2 all because of the cross you have on you intro. I mean yeah I like tractors, but the Lord rules my life too. That rock picker is awesome. It also gets the twigs.
Very good and God bless y'all
God bless you and family hope you are rewarded with a great crop for being a good Stewart of the land
I assume that you need the most land for hay. May I ask, how many acres do you devote to hay production?
I would say around 150 acres.
Hi Trinity Dairy,Ed from Vermont
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
I like seeing your children involved in farm life, I also like that your cows have names and aren't just a number.
People are idiots they need to keep their dumb to their self
Tillage seems like an enjoyable task...preparing the seed bed.
That’s pretty country up there ❤ I’m down here in Dexter .
Great video
This is super cool. The wife and I are buying a sustinance farm right now, and I want to learn to plow with horses. Our Amish neighbors do, so I'm hoping to make friends and have them teach me if they'd be so kind.
Them are too good young men you got there. This was such It's a fun evening with a great turn out of a lot of kids. That lady in the lexion sweater, We had to ask her to let the kids take a turn and stop pushing the kids out of the way. Ha! That's my. Goofy wife.
Lol!
👀🙄🐾👍 Great video Alan Jennifer and the kid's
What happened to the Ford 8n?
It's in the shed, something came apart on the clutch.
Jen, who is that man and what did you do to Allen?😂
I will say I was the one who told her to shave it all off.
So refreshing to see Alan with one child or another in the tractor out in the fields. This time spent with their Dad they will always remember fondly.
The time lapse made it look easy.
I wouldn’t worry to much about your battery modification. I took the two six volts out of my 460 diesel and put one group 31 semi battery in. Works great!
Got milk? I do😂🤣👍🇺🇸
Stay safe guys tats all I pray for farmers and our country people serving God help us all !!!
Good morning, I'm a Pole from Poland. What is the price of fertilizer, plus or minus per tonne?
N - Urea - $560T P - Dap - $760T K - Potash - $480T
I paid 549 a ton for urea and 499 a ton for potash.
I love that straight pipe on the 12!
Enjoying The Videos Of Getting The Fields Worked Up For Planting Remember Sitting on Tractors All Day Long Discing And Dragging That's What We Called It Here In Pennsylvania Back 50 Years Ago LoL Telling My Age Now I Really Miss The Days Of Farming Didn't Really Think That Way When I was Younger But Has A Place In My Soul Nowadays Alan And Your Wife Are Really Bringing Up Your Family With Great Values And Work Ethics God Bless Y'all Thanks For The Video Blessings And Please Be Safe ✌️
Nice to see u doing field work. I half to say at the age of 45 and pulled some calves in my day dairy and beef I'll remember that on how to pull calved from now on. Thanks and have a good day
My 1066 had 2 12 volt batteries making 12 . Is your farm making so little money that you have to drive school bus when you Have all the old equipment that needs so much repair Always believe in so much work but if you can't make it that's ruff.
You really have no idea about farming do you? Bidenomics is making it twice as hard to raise a family let alone farm. Farming is a way of life. Loving what you do. Just be a good little boy and enjoy the vids and keep your sideways little comments to yourself thank you.
How many people do you know that both spouses have jobs? Does that mean they aren't making it at their jobs or that the current economy requires two incomes to support a family. Even new equipment requires repairs and often requires an actual dealership mechanic. Repairs and maintenance are required on everything. The costs of everything involved in dairy farming are skyrocketing, and our creamery has us on a quota, so we can only produce a certain amount of milk a month. That's not a big deal when the price is good, but when that 100 pounds of milk drops from 18.00 a hundred to 12.00 a hundred, it definitely requires some budgeting. An emergency vet call is easily 450 dollars. That doesn't go down just because the milk price did. Farming margins are tight, but my wife is able to stay home with my children, our bills are paid, and my cows are fed. I think that's pretty successful.
@@trinitydairy Amen Alan❤
Success is measured wrong you got it right big money is nice but we tend to waste instead of enjoying it
@trinitydairy I got a kick out of a different video were you said you had to do this and that hopefully before you had to go to work, without considering your this and that was already a days worth of work. My dad worked 12 hour shifts at green giant during corn pack along side dairy farming. Many days of little sleep but it carried use over.
Always love the 1066 and 1256. What a perfect Era that was with farm innovation. . I take pride in people who keep these classic tractors going and working as intended to. I do run them myself
I like the way your harrow folds up for travel
Soo cute the yorkie
Enjoy Watching Field Work That Was One Of My Favorite Duties When Working On The Farm One Fellow mentioned your using Older Equipment So Be It Seems that it's Doing a Very Fine Job. I Also Enjoyed Watching The Boys Learning About Pulling Calf's Very Important Job To Help The Cow When She Needs Help and Doing It The Right Way. Thanks For The Video Blessings To Y'all And Please Be Safe ✌️
Your "post video" video was the best part! Watching the future of AG learning from a Pro should have its own video. You are doing it right, raising your children with "chores", and getting them to events where they can learn new things. 👍, Allen, and your dear wife, who has to be all in for you to succeed.!
I appreciate that you are posting on a more regular basis. I hope that it is paying off for you. Your family deserves it. Do you spread manure on the oat ground?
I usually spread it on corn or hay ground, it seems to be better for weed control that way.
Do you spread composted manure? Fresh manure is too "hot." I mean that the nitrogen level would be detrimental to corn.
Some composted, and Some fresh.
👍👍❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for another great video me and my 2 sons farm also I watch all your video's but seldom comment...
Match the calf with the pelvis is good information everyone should know when pulling calves. It will save the cow a lot of problems after calving. Great video.
That calf looks dead!!🤣
I really enjoy your videos
GOOD FOR THE KIDS TO LEARN HOW TO HELP PULL A CALF IF NEED BE ❤😊❤ THE CHANNEL ❤😊
What a great session for the kids a true farming community
Nice video Me personally I hardly get a spreader anymore I like to let the fertilizer plant put the fertilizer with an airflow That looks like a fake cow an calf
Excellent video again thanks for sharing very interesting
I sure miss farm life and running all that older equipment especially this time of year.
Good to see the youth education!
May God bless you and your family,
Good job and God bless y'all
Almost a 1/2 hour video, nice, thanks for sharing.
